TEACHERS in North Cotabato who were part of the “Pagbasa Pag-Asa Program” received their honoraria on Monday.

The program was launched by Governor Emmylou “Lala” Taliño-Mendoza to increase the literacy of young people.

The province allocated P8,096,000 for the teachers under the said program called “Magtutudlo sa Barangay” with a daily salary of P368.

The Department of Education is a partner of the province in this initiative.

It started in August 2023 and ended in October 2023 to support students who do not yet know how to read and write.

The program employed 500 Cotabateño licensed teachers.
