PISAY PARTNERS WITH BAYER PH ON SCIENCE IMMERSION PROGRAM

/ 21 June 2023

THE PHILIPPINE Science High School System forged a new partnership deal with Bayer Philippines, Inc. for five years of Science Immersion Program.

A memorandum of agreement was signed by key officials of PSHS and Bayer last week.

Under the agreement, Bayer will provide two to three weeks immersion program either on-site, online or hybrid setup that include class discussion, debates, simulations and webinars that can help refine the academic and research skills of PSHS students.

The collaboration aims to familiarize PSHS students with the necessary tools and work locations across various practices of scientific disciplines.

“We are glad to be back here at PSHS after one year. On our end, we were just as inspired by the PSHS students with their eagerness, engagement, and passion for science,” Angel Michael Evangelista, Bayer Country Director, said.

“We are happy to partner once again with the PSHS and continue inspiring our young scientists to take a deeper interest in agriculture and to support their science education through hands-on experience in our research sites,” he added.

The PSHS System developed the SIP to motivate high school scholars, specifically those in their senior years.

“Hopefully, through this, we can encourage more students to engage in agriculture. Show them that it is beyond the traditionally known agriculture. Because (in the long run), their expertise in biochemistry and physics will play an important role in the development of agriculture in the country,” PSHS Executive Director Lilia Habacon said.
