ATENEO PARTNERS WITH CIMB BANK PH
IN A bid to help the country’s financial inclusion goals, the Business Resource Center of the Ateneo de Manila University John Gokongwei School of Management inked a partnership agreement with CIMB Bank Philippines.
ADMU said the collaboration aims to drive financial inclusion and access in the country by developing future leaders in the online banking space as part of CIMB’s financial advocacy campaign.
Under the agreement, Ateneo and CIMB Bank PH will co-develop digital banking courses and case studies for JGSOM’s finance, management and marketing undergraduate students.
The collaboration also includes the implementation of an exclusive internship program and management associate placements with CIMB for JGSOM students.
“With CIMB as a pioneer in the online banking space in the country and a one of ASEAN’s leading banking groups, we are excited to partner with them for this endeavor to push our mutual agenda of social inclusivity and nation-building,” Dr. Norman Tanchingco, Marketing & Law Department chair of JGSOM, said.
“Through this partnership, our students will drive financial inclusion and accessibility through digital banking and help ensure that more Filipinos are banked,” he added.
CIMB Bank Chief Executive Officer Vijay Manoharan said they are honored to partner with Ateneo “to shape the future of banking for the next generation of Filipinos.”
“This is a great example of how businesses can work with educational institutions to co-create solutions that benefit society. We are confident that this partnership will pave the way for more collaborations in the future and contribute to BSP’s financial inclusion goals and Digital Payments and Transformation Roadmap,” Manoharan said.
