FIVE PH TEAMS MAKE IT THROUGH THE CODM GARENA MASTERS SEASON 2 PLAYOFFS
Philippines continues to dominate the CODM’s Garena Server as five teams from the country barged into the playoffs of the second season of the Garena Masters.
With only eight teams remaining, five of which are PH teams, bannered by defending champions Blacklist Ultimate, along with Smart Omega, Mamba LowKings, C8 United, and Tyrant Esports, it showed the best outing for the Filipinos in the CODM tourney.
Each team has punched their way into their respective groups with Blacklist Ultimate facing Tyrant Esports in the first head-to-head, while Mamba LowKings clashes with C8 United in the second matchup.
Meanwhile, Smart Omega will face Malaysia’s Huntsmen in the third bracket.
Blacklist’s John Benedict “JaBen” Julio once competed alongside Tyrant Esports’ Justin “Susanoo” Cecilio and Wacky Andrei “Wacky” Endaya in RTL Esports but ended due to some internal issues.
JaBen joined the Ultimate E-Pro, which eventually became Blacklist International Ultimate after winning the PH championship, which then continuously won five straight championships.
On the contrary, Wacky and Susanoo shifted to Tyrant which won the Garena Youth Challengers championship and now seeks to win a championship for their squad.
Mamba LowKings, the third-placers in the Garena Masters Season 1, looks to prove their worth as the second-best PH team behind Blacklist, besting crowd favorites Smart Omega.
Smart Omega has been on par with Blacklist with the former ruling the PH scene in 2020 while the latter did their way in 2021.
Since then, Omega struggled to keep up with the emergence of the LowKings, both are neck-and-neck for the top spot in the PH CODM scene.
Meanwhile, C8 United are out to show that they are not far behind C8 Legacy which has been recognized as the top team in C8 Esports in regards to their achievements and triumphs in both minor and major competitions.
But with Legacy bowing out early in the competition, United is to take the stand to banner the C8 flag.
