SHOULD YOU TAKE A BREAK OR KEEP GOING?

This guide reminds every student that we are all built differently. Their timeline is not yours. Therefore, you should respect your own growth and not rush through the process. There is nothing wrong with admitting, “No, I am not ready, but one day I will be,” so long as you continue to put in the effort to achieve your goal at your own pace.

The first couple months following graduating are tough. Adjusting to a life without school duties is not as easy as it sounds. Not to mention the #AdultThingz, like living independently, can be a pressure. Taking a break before landing your first job may be the best thing. It’s also an opportunity to explore and evaluate your work options.

If you choose “to keep going” do this:

INVEST ON YOURSELF

Investing in yourself doesn’t mean you need to splurge. Eat healthier options, maintain healthy sleeping patterns, and drink the necessary amounts of water. Keep things simple, because spending money on oneself shouldn’t be extremely expensive. The things to consider are: improving your appearance and ensuring that you are in good health. After devoting a significant amount of time to studying, it is important to develop a sleeping pattern that will lead to increased levels of productivity. Employers will likely hire you if you make yourself presentable.

EXPAND YOUR NETWORK

Connecting with different people helps you obtain fresh insights by sharing issues, experiences, and ambitions. Apps like LinkedIn or Bumble are a great way to expand your network. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when using LinkedIn for the first time. Take note, It is important for new users to consider not only with whom they know, but also when they should connect.

Many college graduates take a year off to volunteer, develop themselves, or travel and explore different cultures. Volunteer work can provide different benefits to graduates while also assisting them in the development of skills and contacts that can be beneficial to them in their eventual career. There are a lot of different kinds of opportunities to volunteer, but all of them can be added to your resume.
