JUSTIN ARANA DIAGNOSED WITH PARTIAL ACL TEAR FOLLOWING THEIR WIN AGAINST STAGS
Arellano’s Justin Arana was diagnosed with a partial acute anterior cruciate ligament tear with anterior horn lateral meniscal tear after their hard-fought victory against San Sebastian College-Recoletos in the NCAA Season 97 on Sunday.
The Chiefs escaped the Stags as the latter finished their opening game with 65-63, but Arellano lost their big man Arana.
Arana had to be stretchered out of the gym after hurting his knee late in the final frame and had to undergo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Sunday evening.
The said development requires Arana to rest at least three months for proper healing and recovery; however, Arana shared that he is still uncertain of his future with the Chiefs this season.
“Wala pa pong sinasabi [if out na ako for the season], [pero] pupunta pa po ata kami kay Doc (Jose Raul) Canlas,” Arana shared in a message on Monday to GMA News.
This will be the last year that Arana can play at the collegiate level, but if he will recover under the expected time frame, the big man from Camarines Norte can try his luck at the PBA Season 47 Rookie Draft.
