FEU SNAPS THREE-GAME SKID, DENIES UE ITS FIRST WIN

“Much needed victory after losing three straight. We needed a victory more for our morale,” said coach Olsen Racela.

It was Xyrus Torres at this time who shined the best for the Tamaraw after marking 26 points and vouched for control in the first quarter to finish at 20-6.

Rj Abarrientos, on one hand, who scored a team-high 33 points against NU in their last game was only limited to two points in their match against UE, but that only proved that the FEU is more than just Abarrientos with Emman Ojuola bolstering 18 points.

However, the almost 20 point-lead at the end of the second half diminished into 10 points at the 8:33 minute mark in the fourth quarter. But that did not stop the Tamaraws to claim their second victory to end with 14 points lead, 88-74.

L-Jay Gonzales who suffered an ankle injury during practice after the first game was able to be on court again, contributing 13 points. While Cholo Anonuevo is still on the bench due to an injury.

The UE Road Warriors played too with someone missing on the team as coach Jack Santiago served the first of his two-game suspension after instructing his players to ‘harm’ Ricci Rivero of the University of the Philippines (UP).
