ALTAS KNOCKS OFF HEAVY BOMBERS, 77-56
Kim Aurin scored 20-points capped by an impressive 4-of-6 shooting from the three-point range in the first half as the surging Perpetual Help Altas held off the Jose Rizal University (JRU) Heavy Bombers, 77-56, on Tuesday.
Jefner Egan had 14 points and Jielo Razon finished with 13 off the bench to help Altas win its first victory in its NCAA Season 97 campaign.
Aurin no longer scored in the second half, but Egan and Razon took over the scoring duty in the fourth quarter to seal its runaway win against the Heavy Bombers.
Altas’ first season win gave rookie coach Myk Saguiguit his first victory as the seniors’ coach of the squad after being promoted from an assistant to take over Frankie Lim’s responsibilities.
With the said triumph, Perpetual will now join San Beda, Mapua, Arellano, and defending champion Letran in the win column.
