VICE President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio said sports help develop the potential of the youth by honing their skills and discipline.

The Vice President attended the inauguration of the Oriental Mindoro Sports Complex in Naujan and the kick-off of the Provincial Athletic Meet on April 25.

She emphasized the importance of the sports competitions which give students the platform to show their skills and talents.

“Tayo sa Department of Education ay kinikilala ang sports bilang bahagi ng pagsasanay ng ating mga mag-aaral upang sila ay maging produktibo at malayo sa droga, kriminalidad at pagsapi sa terorismo,” Duterte-Carpio said

She lauded officials of Oriental Mindoro for building a sports facility that the youth can use to cultivate their talent in sports.

“Binabati ko ang provincial government ng Oriental Mindoro sa pagtatayo ng pasilidad na ito na magbibigay pag-asa lalo na sa ating mga kabataan na linangin ang talento nila sa sports,” Duterte-Carpio said.
