VAN SICKLE REIGNS AGAIN: BAGS BACK-TO-BACK PVL MVP TITLES
BROOKE Van Sickle of Petro Gazz solidified her status as one of the league’s most dominant forces, clinching her second straight MVP title in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference Thursday (10 Apr 2025) night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Fil-Hawaiian standout was unstoppable on both ends, ranking third in scoring with 349 points (296 attacks, 30 blocks, 23 aces) and leading the league in service aces per set (0.38). She also finished second in spiking (36.86%), third in receiving (35.37%), and sixth in digging (2.89 digs/set).
Van Sickle’s all-around excellence propelled the Angels to a Finals appearance, capping a season of consistency and brilliance.
Top Performers of the Conference
Savannah Davison (PLDT) earned her first Best Outside Spiker award after finishing second in scoring (355 points) and leading the league in spiking (38.62%). She also ranked in the top 10 in both blocking and receiving.
Bernadeth Pons (Creamline) shared the Best Outside Spiker title, ranking fourth in spiking (34.58%) and 12th in total points (195).
Trisha Tubu (Farm Fresh) claimed her second Best Opposite Spiker award with 227 points and a 36.05% spiking rate.
Bea De Leon (Creamline) and Thea Gagate (ZUS Coffee) were honored as Best Middle Blockers. De Leon led the league in blocks per set (0.77), while Gagate had the most total blocks (48) and topped middle blockers in scoring (190 points).
Kyle Negrito (Creamline) won her third Best Setter award with 4.98 excellent sets per frame and was fifth in serving (0.25/set).
Thang Ponce (Choco Mucho) earned her third Best Libero title, leading all receivers (47.83%) and ranking fourth in digs (3.31/set).
Ishie Lalongisip (Cignal) was named Rookie of the Conference after stepping up for the HD Spikers. The seventh overall pick tallied 134 points, ranking 28th overall and third among rookies.
