It is now certain that Tungcab will not be free anymore to take part in the upcoming 2021 PBA Rookie Draft.

“Answered prayer talaga siya kasi hindi ko talaga ine-expect ito tsaka talagang biglaan. Pero thankful talaga ako sa opportunity na ito kasi ang plano ko na talaga magpa-draft,” as Tungcab explained this new development.

Tungcab was not able to shine as much during his Gilas stint last November after being called and listed for the 12-man team for the second game against Thais.

He was not able to board some points, yet was given a chance to guard the roster of the all-young cadets in a time span of 10 minutes and conveyed his gratitude to Coach Tab Baldwin for letting him join the team.

Nagpapasalamat ako kay Coach Tab dahil sa opportunity na binigay niya sa akin sa Gilas,” he expressed.

Tungcab will be the second Filipino to bring the pride of the Philippines in Japan after Thirdy Ravena who is now with the team of San-En under Division I.

For the 23-year old baller, Tungcab, his next goal is to set his talents to reach Division I.

Ngayon, papakita ko na talaga ang laro ko kasi mabibigyan na ako ng oras. Siyempre, goal ko rin na makaakyat sa B1,” he propounded.

During his collegiate career, he played for Adamson with his for the first two years then went all the way to the University of the Philippines after the fall out of Soaring Falcons head coach Franz Pumaren.

On his debut-playing career as part of the Fighting Maroons, he averaged 1.3 points and 1.1 rebounds in 6.3 minutes of game time. And during the UAAP Season 82, he normed 2.94 points and 1.63 rebounds in just 10 minutes of game time and set his liberty as the team’s lockdown defender.

He also took part in Batangas-Tanduay in the MPBL and just after playing for 4 games, he was able to be part of the roster as an all-time cadet.

Tungcab is set to join the Alphas in the midst of its season, and will be leaving the country at the end of the month to help the Althas with its current standing, 9-8 in the East District.
