TERRAFIRMA FORWARD ROIDER CABRERA HOSPITALIZED AFTER COLLAPSING IN DYIP DUGOUT
Roider Cabrera was rushed to Medical City in Pasig after collapsing in the Terrafirma Dugout shortly after leading the team to an unbeaten start with wins over Meralco and Barangay Ginebra on Wednesday, November 24.
Terrafirma governor Bobby Rosales confirmed that Cabrera was rushed to the hospital after losing consciousness inside the locker room
“He will be under observation in the next 48 hours. We will await the official statement from the doctors,” Rosales said.
Cabrera played a major role in the twin victories over Meralco and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, making it to the top of Pool B with a 2-0 win-loss record.
The 30-year-old forward scored 5 points in their huge comeback win, 17-14, over runner-up Meralco, before dropping 11 points in their overtime win against Ginebra, 19-17.
Terrafirma still has to win its last game against Limitless App on Thursday to secure a quarterfinal berth.
The 6-foot-4 Cabrera, who was known for his UAAP days in the Adamson University, became a mainstay for the Dyip in the standard PBA competition in the past few years.
Before Cabrera’s collapse, Purefoods forward Val Acuña was also rushed to the hospital after banging heads with Platinum Karaoke standout Chris de Chavez during their game.
