Smart Omega affirmed that the illustrious Dota 2 professional player Carlo “Kuku” Palad will gunner the roster as their newest head coach.

“We are proud to introduce the addition of Carlo ‘Kuku’ Palad to the Omega Esports roster as the Dota 2 team’s coach,” Omega’s statement.

“With his knowledge, experience, and expertise in Dota 2, we believe that Kuku will be a great help for us to bounce back and reach the top,” the team added.

This geek man has already marked his name in the E-sports world as being one of the finest offlaners in the Southeast Asian region.

Kuku was part of the TNC Pro Team, the first Filipino squad, that qualified for The International (TI) since Mineski in the first edition in 2011.

Known as the “Filipino Huskar”, Kuku and the rest of the TNC squad pulled off arguably the biggest upset in TI history after taking down two-time Major winner OG in the lower bracket in 2016 where they landed the 7th-8th spot and brought home over $500,000.

TNC participated in three editions of the TI but due to a disappointing 9th-12th place finish last year, Kuku left the team after his three-year stint.

Thereafter, he was picked up by Geek Fam alongside his long-time friend Marc Polo Luis “Raven” Fausto.

However, he also left the team after a year after they bagged back-to-back titles in the Beyond the Summit (BTS) Pro Series Season 2 and ONE Esports Dota 2 Southeast Asian League.

“Kuku is a well-known professional player in the international scene, having played on the prestigious ‘The International’ multiple times and garnering numerous championship trophies himself.”

“With his knowledge, experience, and expertise in Dota 2, we believe that Kuku will be a great help for us to bounce back and to reach the top,” Omega stated.

Moreover, his blatant actions to dominate the virtual sports were commended with his recent stint in ‘Among Us’ in the BTS Pro Series 3: Southeast Asia with bolstered forces of fellow Filipino Abed “Abed” Yusop and former TNC captain Park “March” Taewon.

Omega is bannered by Kuku’s former teammate John Linuel “Teehee” Abanto (hard support/captain), Christian “Skadi” Abasolo (carry), Benhur “Benhur” Lawis (midlaner), Sandro “Luciano” Aguinaldo (offlaner), and Mark Jubert “Shanks” Redira (soft support).
