SHAKEY’S GIRLS VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE EXPANDS TO 30 TEAMS, LAUNCHES DIVISION 2 IN LANDMARK THIRD SEASON
MANILA — A record-breaking 30 teams are set to compete in the third season of the Shakey’s Girls Volleyball Invitational League (SGVIL), which kicks off on May 28 at the La Salle Green Hills gym.
This year’s highly anticipated high school volleyball showdown features top contenders from Metro Manila and various provinces, promising a thrilling and competitive tournament.
Twenty teams, including reigning champions Adamson University, will battle in Division 1. Meanwhile, 10 new schools will make their debut in the newly introduced Division 2—marking a major milestone in the tournament’s growth.
“In celebration of Shakey’s golden anniversary, we’re proud to launch Division 2 this year,” said Dr. Ian Laurel, president of Athletic Events and Sports Management, Inc. (ACES), the league’s organizer. “As an added incentive, the top two teams in Division 2 will be promoted to Division 1 next season.”
The SGVIL is proudly supported by Shakey’s Pizza Parlor, Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken, Potato Corner, and R&B Milk Tea.
