Officials of the SBP will route for the use of the Angeles University Foundation (AUF) Gym and the Quest Hotel where Groups A and C, as well as the FIBA Cup officials, will be situated during and after the aftermath of the game.

And just like in the PBA bubble set up, games and training sessions will be held at the AUF gym while all teams from Groups A and C, as well as Fiba officials, will be lodged at Quest.

SBP executive director Sonny Barrios, director of operations Butch Antonio, and coaches academy head Jong Uichico, who served as the head coach of Gilas Pilipinas in the second window in Manama, Bahrain were also present in the ocular inspection.

FIBA awarded SBP the hosting rights for games in Group A and C as the success of the PBA “bubble” inside the Clark Freeport and Special Economic Zone came in handy for the league.

Group A consists of the Philippines, South Korea, Indonesia, and Thailand while Group C has Australia, Guam, and Hong Kong.

“The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas is honored and humbled to be chosen as one of the hosts for the last round FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers this coming February,” read the statement that was released by Panlilio after the announcement of hosting the last window of Fiba 2021.

“The SBP is excited to show them the same warmth of Filipino hospitality even under these difficult circumstances,” the statement continued.
