SAN BEDA BEATS ARELLANO

25 October 2025

SAN BEDA ticked off all the boxes on Friday when the Red Lions routed Arellano, 76-53, at San Juan Arena in the NCAA Season 101 men’s basketball tournament.

The Red Lions cruised to their third straight win following a beatdown of the Chiefs to improve to a 5-1 record in Group B.

“We knew not to take them lightly,” Agjanti Miller said. “We came into practice locked in, came out, executed the game plan and won.”

San Beda locked down Arellano on defense, tallying eight steals and five blocks as a team.

The Red Lions also forced the Chiefs to a lowly 27.6 percent field goal shooting clip with their stifling defense.

Miller paced San Beda to the dub with 20 points and seven rebounds while Jomel Puno flirted with a double-double of 10 markers and eight boards.

T-Mc Ongotan, the reigning Collegiate Press Corps Player of the Week, finished with 14 points for Arellano but he struggled to get there, sinking just five of his 18 tries from the floor. Arellano dropped to 3-4 in Group A.
