“Triple-header po tayo. Closed circuit pa rin ang gagawin po nati,.” Commissioner Willie Marcial shared.

The season will officially kick-off at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City at 11 in the morning and the triple-header will begin at 12:30 pm.

Games and Amusements Board chair Baham Mitra affirmed that the league will adopt a ‘closed circuit semi-bubble’ set up.

“There will be no fans. That is what is provided under IATF guidelines since not a lot of people are vaccinated yet,” Mitra said.

“There will be a maximum of 100 people [per game],” he added.

The games will be played every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in which the official schedule of games will be disclosed on July 12.

The games are anticipated to start at 12:30 pm and will end by 7 pm under a closed-circuit format. Sunday triple-header games will start at 2:30 pm.

Marcial said that this system will be monitored through a mobile application in order to limit the activities and ensure the safety of each player, coach, and staff participating in this season.

At the same time, PBA chose not to hold a traditional march where there are muses and opted for a simple ceremony instead in consideration of the venue’s allowing capacity.

“Wala nang parada, nandoon pa rin ang mga governors. May welcoming remarks ako ng kaunti. Simpleng simple lang,” said Marcial.
