/ 5 December 2021

Originally, the trade entailed the exchange of Cruz and rookie center Mark Acuno being sent to TNT for Chris Javier and a first-round pick in next year’s draft.

However, the league did not approve such a deal leading the parties involved to re-negotiate.

TNT and Blackwater have discussed and laid out the revised trade which was approved by PBA on Friday, December 3.

The agreement entails the exchange of Cruz and Jay Washington to Blackwater and TNT, respectively.

The shooting forward, Cruz started his career with Alaska and will play for his third PBA team as he joins TNT.

Cruz will also be reunited with his former Gilas Pilipinas coach Chot Reyes.

Meanwhile, while Blackwater is revamping the squad after a winless campaign in their first conference, Jay-Wash will be one of the sure members of the team.

Even though Washington was not in the championship game of TNT against Magnolia Hotshot in the previous conference, the 40-year-old man saw action in one game with TNT.
