PAUL DESIDERIO GETS ONE-YEAR EXTENSION WITH BLACKWATER
Blackwater won’t be cutting the ties with Paul Desiderio as the squad signed him again to a one-year extension.
“He has some good games with us, [but] just has to be consistent,” said coach Ariel Vanguardia.
“We always like his effort and hustle on both ends of the floor.”
The 6-foot-1 Cebuano guard has always been one of the eyes of the veterans in basketball as he played a big role in the University of the Philippines Maroons’ resurgence.
Then Desiderio joined the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft by NLEX before being transferred to Blackwater.
Desiderio played a total of five games in the 2021 PBA Governors Cup with 6.40 points and 2.0 rebounds a game and one of which is the game against San Miguel where he was the top scorer with 16 points.
Blackwater wanted to see more of the ‘hunger’ side of Desiderio.
“He can still although it’s tough. He has to bring back that hunger in him. We also asked him to lose some excess pounds,” Vanguardia said.
