MIKO EALA VICTORIOUS IN BIG TEN DEBUT; PENN STATE SUCCUMB TO NEBRASKA
Miko Eala racked off his freshman year in the Penn State tennis team with a resounding win in his first-ever Big Ten tournament match against Victor Moreno Lozano, 7-5, 6-4, on Friday (Manila Time) in Nebraska.
Miko Eala, older brother of Alex, continues to carve his own name after nabbing a win for the Nittany Lions in his first-ever Big Ten appearance against Victor Moreno Lozano in straight sets that sparked a comeback for the Lions after absorbing 0-3 in their first three matches.
His win is one of the only two victories for the Nittany Lions against Nebraska, 2-4, as they ended their season in the first round of the Big Ten tourney.
Bora Sengul of Turkey also added a victory for Penn State after beating William Gleason.
Despite the triumphs, the PSU submitted to Nebraska at the end, 2-4, which ended their Big Ten journey in the first round of eliminations.
In his first year with Penn State, Eala garnered 12 wins in Singles while only dropping five of them in all his matchups.
Though, Eala suffered in Doubles winning only five out of his 12 outings in the category.
The freshmen tennister joined Penn State Nittany Lions earlier this year after graduating from the Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor, Spain.
