MATT GANUELAS-ROSSER RETURNS TO TNT AFTER TURNING DOWN TERRAFIRMA OFFER
Matt Ganuelas-Rosser declined the 2-year contract being offered by Terrafirma and decided to come back home to TNT.
The TNT Tropang Giga shared in a Twitter post the return of the 6-foot-6 winger to the team.
“We’d like to welcome Matt back to the team. Now it’s time to go to work” the team said in a tweet on Friday.
The Olongapo-born cager is the third player from the 2014 draft class to leave their mother teams to enjoy the unrestricted free agency rule that took effect recently.
The 31-year-old Rosser took down the two-year contract offered by Terrafirma and came back to the team that picked him fourth overall in the 2014 Rookie Draft which offered him a three-year contract.
The TNT franchise was a mark to Matt’s ball journey as he won his first PBA championship with the team during his first year, and where he earned the All-Rookie honors at the season’s end.
Ganuelas-Rosser was traded to San Miguel for RR Garcia in 2017, and thereafter where he achieved four championships under head coach Leo Austria’s star-studded rotation.
He will be reunited with Gilas Pilipinas player Jayson Castro and mentor Chot Reyes.
Further, TNT also acquired Rey Mark Acuno after being dropped by Blackwater to its unrestricted free agent list with rights to salary.
