The Filipino stalwart put up a spectacular double-double line of 27 points on 11-of-16 shooting from the field, 10 assists, and three steals.

However, the reigning champion Chiba scuppered that attempt and handed the Lakestars their fifth defeat of the season.

The first half of the game was a close one, with the teams knotted at 21 and 25 points in the first and second quarters, respectively.

The former Ateneo star had 20 points out of his game-high 27 at the end of the third quarter, but the defending champion was able to quickly counter with a 10-3 opening run in the fourth quarter after Josh Duncan pushed for a 78-71 advantage.

Shiga answered back with four points, 81-78, with 4:40 left.

However, Fumio Nishimura of Chiba drilled a triple to get on top by seven, 87-80, and with momentum-swinging plays, Chiba took the win.

Duncan paved the way for the Jets with 18 points and nine rebounds, while Fumio Nishimura and John Mooney added 16 and 15 markers, respectively.

Meanwhile, Soko and Sean O’mara back up Ravena with 18 points apiece for the Lakestars.

Ravena and the Lakestars will take on the Shimane Susanoo Magic in a bid to reclaim their season momentum and pride on Wednesday, November 10.
