Lina previously announced last February that he will remain in Esapaña because of his mentor, coach Aldin Ayo.

However, the multi-awarded head coach has since resigned from the post because due to the controversial Bicol training.

According to sources, Lina may have to sit-out UAAP Season 83 as he will be a late enrollee of UP however the Fighting Maroons is in no rush to close the deal.

“Our (UP’s) managers are already in talks with him, but we’re still in discussion since he can play come Season 84,” said the source, who requested anonymity due to the sensitive topic.

He will be an addition to the power of the fighting maroon and will reunite with CJ Cansino who was the first to leave the den and commit to UP.

Standing 6-foot-5, Lina posted averages of 16.6 points in 54.7 percent shooting, 2.1 assists, and 10.9 rebounds during his high school career.

Aside from having a stunning junior’s career, the 19-year-old cousin of former King Tiger and current NorthPort gunner Kevin Ferrer, is also a former member of the Gilas Youth team that played in the 2017 FIBA U16 Asia, 2018 U17 World, and 2018 U18 Asia Championships.

While Sherwin replied to one of the tweets of Lina hoping for his presence in the Seniors Division of UST, “STAY TAYO USTE, par,” he replied in which Lina gave no response.

Meanwhile, Gerry Abadiano, another recruit of UP, also tweeted “what’s UP” mentioning Lina’s Twitter account.

Due to this issue, the UP-UST fans are now debating on twitter where Bismarck should stay.

If Lina chose to leave, then he will be the eighth player to depart from España based squad after the bubble Bicol fiasco.

As of the moment, UST prospects still have Sherwin Concepcion and Chabi-Yo to man the team.
