MANILA — Described by some fans as some sort of a “Mighty Dozen,” the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) has presented its final 12-man lineup for Gilas Pilipinas on the eve of its game against host Lebanon.

“Each one, to the last man, is fully committed to giving his very best, inspired by the support and prayers of his countrymen. Let us continue to wish them well and cheer them on as they play for all of us away from home. LABAN PILIPINAS! PUSO!” exhorted SBP Executive Director and spokesman Sonny Barrios.

He bared that leading the national team is NBA star Jordan Clarkson of the Utah Jazz and 7-foot-3 Kai Sotto. Providing solid support around them are Japeth Aguilar, Chris Newsome, Scottie Thompson, Thirdy Ravena, Kiefer Ravena, Bobby Ray Parks, Dwight Ramos, Carl Tamayo, Jamie Malonzo and Calvin Oftana.

Barrios stressed that “Our GILAS PILIPINAS Men’s National Basketball Team is raring to go all out for flag and country” at 2 a.m. Aug. 26 (Manila time) in the fourth window of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers at the Nouhad Naufal Sports Complex in Beirut.
