Three-time Filipino Kyokushin Karate Champion Ramon “The Bicolano” Gonzales hopes to snag a win at the previously-recorded ONE Championship Circle at ONE: INSIDE THE MATRIX II from Singapore that airs this Friday, 6 November.

Gonzales, who is also coming from a loss himself in his last bout last year, Gonzales is longing to snatch a win for the Philippines against Indonesian wrestling champ Eko Roni Sapatura in ONE: Inside the Matrix II.

The Filipino karateka went on a hot run in 2019, scoring a hattrick of submission wins that got him noticed by the best athletes in the flyweight division.

Prior to his loss last November, the Bicol native Gonzales was sent crashing to the canvas with a unanimous decision loss to “The Wolf of the Grasslands” Hexigetu at ONE: AGE OF DRAGONS, spoiling his rise through the loaded weight class.

Gonzales will now look to spoil Saputra’s attempt to soar to the pinnacle of the division and hopes to improve to a winning record in ONE Championship where he currently holds an even 3-3 win-loss slate.

“I make sure that when it’s time to enter the Circle, I am ready. I promise my fans that [I] will show them the best of me this time,” said Gonzales promising the best performance in his bounce-back fight.

Like Gonzales, Saputra has three consecutive finishes in which he showcased his top-notch wrestling, however, given the Filipino’s ability to light people up on the feet and handle himself once the match hits the floor, the Filipino karateka may be his most dangerous opponent has ever faced.
