The Flying Titans showed that their non-bearing rout against Crossovers prior to the PVL semis will not be repeated as they gave no chance to Chery Tiggo to adjust and claimed the match under three sets.

The Crossovers found it hard to take the momentum due to Flying Titans’ orchestrated offense as Kat Tolentino scored 11 points, Bea de Leon and Ponggay Gaston had 10 points each, Maddie Madayag knocked three blocks and nine points, Regine Arocha fired three aces and seven markers, and Deanna Wong with 16 excellent sets and four points.

The early frame of the first set contends with miscues in an attempt to find balance but after a single block rejection from De Leon, the first time out of the game was called with an 8-6 lead in favor of Choco Mucho.

The Flying Titans continued to dominate as the Crossovers seemed to fall with their defense system, and after rejecting Jaja’s Santiago attack by Gaston and De Leon, Choco Mucho still had the control with a 16-10 lead at midframe, and later on, ended the first set with a seven-point lead.

Chery Tiggo redeemed themselves in the early frame of the second set with a 5-1 lead after a back-row attack and a single block by Arriane Layug and Jaja Santiago, respectively.

The Flying Titans made hurdles to recover as the Crossovers continued their poised, 22-20 lead, but with simultaneous missed receptions from Crossovers, an ace from Arocha, and a back-to-back kill swing from Tolentino, Choco Mucho ended the second set with a three-point lead.

Chery Tiggo appeared to cannot forego what just happened at the last minute of the second set as the third frame begun with Choco Mucho setting the 7-0 lead, and even though the Santiago sisters rallied and got a 19-21 lead, Madayag’s winning attack gave Choco Mucho game 1 in PVL semis.

“We just played right siguro yung kalaban nagulat lang din. We have to keep on doing what is right,” said Choco head coach Oliver Almadro.

“I commend my players because nagkaroon sila ng discipline today sa ginagawa nila. We just won a game and we will come back again tomorrow.”
