CHERY TIGGO, ZUS COFFEE SET FOR CRUCIAL PVL SHOWDOWN
CHERY Tiggo and ZUS Coffee will face off in a pivotal Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference match on Thursday (30 Jan 2025) at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City, with both teams looking to secure their standings.
Chery Tiggo, led by Ces Robles, comes off a dominant 3-1 win over Farm Fresh last Saturday, with Robles contributing 21 points, including three aces and two blocks.
This victory lifted the Crossovers to a 5-3 record, tying them with PLDT and Choco Mucho for third place. Head coach Norman Miguel will also count on Ara Galang, Shaya Adorador, and Cza Carandang to maintain momentum.
Galang emphasized the importance of teamwork and proper execution as they prepare to face ZUS. “Regardless of the opponent, we need to adapt and execute the system properly,” she said, after contributing 15 attacks, four blocks, and one ace in their last match.
ZUS Coffee, led by Chai Troncoso, Chinnie Arroyo, Michelle Gamit, and Thea Gagate, is on a roll after a convincing 3-0 victory over Capital1 Solar Spikers. Head coach Jerry Yee remains focused on continuous improvement: “We always strive to do our best. If we win, that’s great; if not, we keep aiming to get better.”
In the 6 p.m. main event, Farm Fresh will attempt to rebound from their loss to Chery Tiggo when they take on Galeries Tower. Farm Fresh (3-4) will rely on Trisha Tubu, Aly Bertolano, and Louie Romero, while Galeries Tower (1-6) looks to Ysa Jimenez, Jewel Encarnacio, and rookie Julia Coronel for support.
