BATANG GILAS DALPH PANOPIO COMMITS TO PLAY WITH CAL STATE BAKERSFIELD

Gilas Pilipinas youth product Dalph Adem Panopio will soon flaunt his jump shot in the United States after committing to Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners.

The six-foot-two ballplayer marked his choice to make camp in Stateside to play in NCAA Division I next year despite several offers from few colleges in the Philippines.

the Filipino-Italian gained attention IN 2018 after playing with Italian team Stella Azzura in Euroleague Basketball Next Generation Tournament (ANGT) Final leaving an average stat line of 17.8 points on 50-percent shooting from beyond the arc and 5.5 dimes.

In that same year, Panopio has already set foot in the Italian professional men’s basketball League, LegaDue Gold as a pro baller with Roseto Shark.

The Batang Gilas recorded fourth place among eight countries competing after helping the national team in the 2018 FIBA U18 Asian Championship in Thailand averaging 7.3 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.

He also made it to FIBA U19 World Cup in Greece last year where he runs 5.0 points, 2.6 boards, and 1.4 assists, landing the Philippines in 14th rank.

Panopio is currently playing with South Plains College, a public community college in Levelland, Texas.

Soon after placing back to Collegiate leagues, Roadrunners was fast to snatch the rising basketball star into signing with them.

According to Panopio, playing with Cal State Bakersfield will be an opportunity to train and improve to represent the Philippines again in games in the future, not just in international tournaments but also locally.
