Bryan Bagunas led Ota Miyoshi in a hard-earned match against Osaka after failing to lose control at the third set and end at the fourth frame.

The National University product, Bagunas, exploded a game-high 22 points built on 17 attacks, four blocks, and an ace.

Oita Miyoshi has progressed since last season when it took them 21 games to win their first game, but they have started and greeted this season with a well-deserved victory.

In his third-straight year with the Japanese club, Bagunas-led victory was enraged by Emerson Rodriguez’s 18 attacks and an ace, while Kota Yamada led the Weisse Adler with 16 points and four aces.

Despite a nerve-wracking match, the two teams never backed down, especially that the gap score along the sets did not go beyond two digits.

Nevertheless, Ota took control en route to a two-set lead but failed to defend their dominance on the on-set of the third frame.

Adamant of letting go of Oita’s efforts and aiming to recover from a disastrous 3-33 lost card last season, Weisse Adler refused to extend up to the fifth frame and stretched to seal the deal with a 28-26 lead.

The two teams will face each other again on Sunday, October 17.
