ALL SYSTEMS GO FOR CHOOKS 3×3, TO KICKOFF SEASON ON OCT. 19
Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 President’s Cup, powered by TM, has all systems covered after a successful two rounds of RT-PCR test as half of the teams entered NU’s state-of-the-art new campus.
Seven out of 12 teams were cleared to enter the INSPIRE Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna for the upcoming bubble.
“They cleaned our bags, got our temperature checked, made sure that we have meals to eat. Everything’s been taken care of and I can be assured that I’m safe and clean,” said Gab Banal from contender Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards.
However, the teams will still have to undergo a two-day quarantine inside their rooms before being allowed to train.
Moreover, the league highly discouraged handshakes and high fives during the game and will be imposing limitations with regards to contact celebrations as explained by Dr. Willie Ong, Chooks 3×3’s health consultant.
This will also be the same for staff and non-players, who will have to observe social distancing while wearing face masks and face shields.
Moreover, Dr. Ong shared that they have taken all measures possible in case anyone turned out positive for COVID19.
“We will immediately bring him to the isolation room for retesting. And if found positive again, we will be isolating him and sending him out of the bubble then do contact tracing. The goal is for early detection and early separation,” he shared.
League commissioner Eric Altamirano shared that the main goal of the league is to restart the season with the hope of inspiring others to do the same.
While GAB Chairman Abraham Mitra commended the Chooks-To-Go organization for the steps they have done so far.
“Carry on and sana, patuloy na maganda ang ginagawa niyo. Congratulations and let’s go!” he said.
The league is set to happen on Oct. 21, 23, 25, 27, and 30 with a preseason tournament that will take place on Oct. 19 for the clubs to fine-tune their game.
