Eala tied the first set at 4-4 but struggled and lost the first set to her Swiss opponent.

She attempted to maintain her momentum in the second set but was unable to overcome a 3-5 deficit as Scilipoti sealed her victory and advanced to the next round.

Eala came off a grueling three-set match win against Michaela Laki of Greece, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4, that made her advance in the quarterfinals round.

However, Scilipoti denied the Juniors World No. 2 of her maiden spot in the semifinals at the Flushing Meadows.

Eala is set to compete in the girl’s doubles quarterfinal with Belgian partner Hanne Vandewinkel against the American pair of Elizabeth Coleman and Madison Sieg on Saturday.

The Rafael Nadal Academy scholar is still vying for her third Grand Slam doubles crown following her success in the 2021 French Open with Oksana Selekhmeteva of Russia and the 2020 Australian Open with Priska Nugroho of Indonesia.
