AGEO MEDICS CANCELS NEXT FOUR GAMES DUE TO COVID CONCERNS
The Japan V.League has cancelled Saitama Ageo Medics' games scheduled from January 29 to February 6 following a COVID-19 outbreak in the team.
According to the statement released by Saitama, five among its members have already tested positive for the virus.
Moreover, the rest of the team has also been tested and is awaiting results.
“We sincerely apologize to everyone who was looking forward to the matches,” Saitama said in their announcement on Monday.
“Saitama Ageo Medics has been working on measures to prevent the spread of new coronavirus infections, but in the future, all players, staff, and related parties will take even more thorough measures.”
Jaja Santiago and Saitama were scheduled to face Himeji on January 29 and 30, as well as the Toray Arrows on February 5 and 6 before the games were postponed.
Ageo Medics currently sits in sixth place in the standings with a 10-6 win-loss record.
They last played on January 15 and 16, completing a weekend sweep of Kurobe.
