5 PINOYS SET TO REPRESENT PH IN TI10
Five Filipinos are set to represent the Philippines at the tenth installment of The International (TI), Dota2's world championship competition which will be held in August in Europe this year.
They are Abed Azel ‘Abed’ L. Yusop who plays for North American squad Evil Genuises, Karl Matthew ‘Karl’ Baldovino, and Carlo ‘Ku’ Palad from ‘T1’ who all received direct invites after securing enough Dota Pro Circuit Points.
The other two are Marc Polo Luis ‘Raven’ Fausto and Djardel ‘Dj’ Mampusti from Fnatic, who made it through the Southeast Asia regional qualifiers.
Their teams will slug it out to bag the grand prize of the $40 million or almost P2 billion tournament.
This is also Ku, Dj, and Abed’s fifth consecutive appearance at the tournament, while it will be Karl’s first. Raven, on the other hand, will be in TI for the fourth time, after missing TI9.
Meanwhile, the country’s homegrown team TNC Predator will miss this year’s TI after getting reverse swept by Fnatic at the grand finals of the qualifiers in a best of five series.
