ST. FRANCIS COLLEGE TAPS GLOBE FOR MORE EFFICIENT DISTANCE LEARNING

28 August 2021

As the pandemic shuttered classrooms and drove students and teachers to go online, more academic institutions turned to technology to ensure the continuous delivery of quality education.

Negros Oriental-based St. Francis College recently partnered with Globe for its School Management System solution to digitize its daily operations—from enrollment, registration, managing student records, grading, and generating financial reports—to provide a better educational experience to its students and academic network.

Distance learning made easy with Globe’s School Management System

Globe’s School Management System is a proprietary product that takes all student information and school processes, puts them into a centralized data management structure, and builds a smoother workflow that enables much simpler operations.

Built into the system is an array of benefits that help schools to provide the best online learning experience for students, parents, and staff.

Easier tracking of student information such as grades, attendance, student background, and medical history is made possible by simply encoding and uploading the data onto the platform.

Trouble-free access to announcements regarding examination schedules, extra-curricular activities, and school events can be made available on the school’s website to keep students and parents informed about new updates.

Real-time financial management grants school administrators access to student accounts, send notifications for payment due dates, and generate financial reports to monitor the school’s performance.

Enhanced registration management allows the registrar to easily assign sections, teachers, and schedules on the web portal.

Investing in digital innovations for more efficient online academic operations

“Globe has helped us at St. Francis College to pivot our systems through digital tools that enable us to provide uninterrupted quality education to our students. Through our collaboration with Globe, we have reinvented the way we run our institution through our new and more robust School Management System,” said Fr. Ferdinand Mercado, St. Francis College president.

The system also provided the school community with an online platform that has improved communication and collaboration within the academic community, with parents eagerly getting more involved in their children’s education.

“We are glad to have made this investment that promotes learning for all our students even in a distance learning setting,” added Terec.

Established in 1962 by Franciscan friars, the Catholic institution provides programs for junior high school, senior high school, and college students. Its senior high school department offers academic and technical-vocational-livelihood tracks. Meanwhile, its college department offers bachelor’s degree courses in business administration, information systems and teacher education.

Globe has been a committed partner of learning institutions in the Philippines in creating resilience in education by providing digital solutions to keep up with the changing times. It offers a wide range of connectivity products and ICT services that will help ensure that learning continues all the time.

“Our commitment to our academic partners is anchored on our belief that education is vital to empower the next generation to own their future. We will see this through by continuously innovating and equipping them with the best solutions even in changing times,” said Mark Abalos, Globe Segment Head for Education.
