GLOBE EXPANDS TYPHOON RESPONSE WITH LIBRENG TAWAG AND CHARGING SITES, READIES RELIEF OPERATIONS

(Updates as of 8:00 AM, July 24, 2025)

25 July 2025

Globe continues to ramp up its response efforts following the recent typhoon, confirming multiple Libreng Tawag and Libreng Charging (LTLC) sites in affected areas while maintaining full network operations and preparing for initial relief distribution in Cebu.

“We know how critical communication is in times of crisis,” Globe Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer Yoly Crisanto said. “Through our #AlagangGlobe efforts, we are committed to providing immediate lifelines, whether through network reliability, free call, and charging stations, and coordinated relief support. We stand with our communities and will continue to respond with care, speed, and purpose.”

Libreng Tawag, Charging Sites Activated

To support residents in high-impact communities, Globe has activated the following LTLC sites to provide free calls and device-charging services:

  • T. De Leon National High School, Valenzuela City

July 23, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

  • Bagong Silangan, Quezon City

July 24, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • Tatalon, Quezon City

July 24, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

These efforts are part of Globe’s ongoing #AlagangGlobe initiative, which seeks to deliver critical connectivity and community care during times of crisis.

Restoration Efforts in Progress

Globe has maintained service in the vast majority of its covered areas following the recent typhoon, with minimal network disruptions reported despite widespread power outages across Luzon.

Only a small portion of Globe-covered municipalities have been affected. Metro Manila and Rizal have been fully restored, while in Meycauayan, Bulacan, there were only two sites affected while the rest of the sites remain operational.

Service interruptions in these areas are primarily due to power loss. Restoration work is actively ongoing with Globe’s technical teams on the ground working closely with power utility providers and local government units to bring affected cell sites back online as quickly and safely as possible.

Relief Operations Underway

In response to the impact of the recent typhoon and southwest monsoon rains, Globe has mobilized a series of relief efforts through Brigadang Ayala in collaboration with Globe employee volunteers.

Following initial relief operations in Cebu, where assistance was extended to 250 affected families, Globe is now expanding its support to other heavily impacted communities in Luzon.

Relief distribution is scheduled for July 25, 2025, beginning with Quezon City, where 100 families are set to receive aid. This will be followed by Pasig, supporting 59 families, and Pasay, where another 100 families will be assisted.

Further deliveries are being planned for the coming week, covering additional areas in South Luzon. These include Taytay, Rizal and Cavite, with 100 families each slated to receive support, and Laguna, where 21 families have been identified for relief.

These operations are part of the company’s broader #AlagangGlobe initiative, which aims to provide swift, coordinated support to communities affected by natural calamities.
