FROM FAITH TO ACTION: DONORS UNITE TO SAVE LIVES

/ 30 March 2026

THE WORLD Mission Society Church of God once again turned faith into action as it led the 1826th Worldwide Blood Donation Drive on March 22, 2026, bringing communities together in a shared mission to save lives.

Held at Caruhatan East Elementary School in Barangay Karuhatan, Valenzuela City, the venue became a space of compassion as nearly 300 participants from Valenzuela and nearby Caloocan gathered for the initiative.

Participants from different walks of life—including students, workers, and youth volunteers—came together, each offering their time and willingness to help through a simple yet life-saving act.

The initiative was conducted in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH) and various medical institutions, ensuring the safe and proper facilitation of the blood donation process.

The event was further strengthened by the presence of government agencies, including the Philippine National Police, represented by PCOL Joseph G. Talento and PMAJ Joseph C. Inomis, alongside the Bureau of Fire Protection led by City Fire Marshal FSUPT Ma. Theresa A. Alqueza.

Stories Behind Every Drop

Among the donors was Steven, a first-time student donor, who described his experience as both exciting and meaningful, saying, “Masaya… na-excite ako kasi first time ko. Iniisip ko kung ano ang mararamdaman ko, pero nung naturukan na ako, medyo masakit.”

He shared that his motivation for joining the activity was to “magbigay ng luwalhati sa Diyos,” adding that for him, donating blood means “pagbibigay ng buhay rin sa isang tao, nakakapagdugtong sa buhay nila.”

Despite his initial nervousness, he expressed his willingness to do it again, saying, “Handa po, para makatulong ulit.”

Meanwhile, Shainna, a 24-year-old worker and second-time donor, said she felt more confident this time, noting, “Since this is my second time, hindi na ako kinakabahan… ine-expect ko na ang mangyayari, at excited ako na mag-donate ng dugo. Ginagawa ko ito with love, supporting the theme of Mother’s love.”

She described the experience as deeply fulfilling, saying, “Sobrang saya, kasi mayroon itong pag-ibig gaya ng isang ina na may pagsasakripisyo.”

For her, the motivation comes from the idea of saving lives, sharing, “Nag-uudyok sa’kin ang kaisipang makakapagligtas ako ng buhay sa pamamagitan ng pagsasakripisyo.”

She also encouraged others to overcome fear, emphasizing, “Huwag silang matakot. Ang takot ay nasa isip lang… mas mararamdaman natin ang fulfillment knowing we are saving someone.”

By the end of the event, 176 successful donors had contributed, making it more than just a humanitarian effort—it became a reflection of unity, compassion, and faith in action.

The World Mission Society Church of God shared that this meaningful service aims to bring positive change to society by practicing Mother’s love—a love that gives life, cares for others, and restores hope. They hope to continue sharing God’s love and inspiring more people to take part.

As the need for blood continues, everyone is encouraged to join future donation drives, proving that even a single act of kindness can save lives and bring hope.
