HIGH VOLTAGE: THE NEVER-ENDING WAR
NEVER PLAY GOD.
Yes, we live in a culture where we can regard ourselves as leaders, but not to the level that you are already fighting for extraordinary authority. We are not, and will never be, rulers of the world we have taken on as a loan.
When the US government decided to withdraw its military troops from Afghanistan, the so-called “never-ending war” became the polar opposite. To begin with, this sparked a fresh bloody conflict.
With the world pressing on the issue, I chose to differ. Communication has always been the key to better understanding and if Taliban terrorists want attention, we’re giving it to them. What is their objective?
As I have watched news updates related to Afghan terrorism, I noticed that what they want is simple.
“EVERY MAN AGAINST EVERY MAN”, this is what they want us to see, and it really is convincing.
As a result, we get frightened every time they raise threats and snatch the lives of the innocent. However, do we really need to show them that we are afraid of them? Who are they to fear, in the first place? If I’m wrong, please correct me, but as far as I can tell, we’re all the same. When it comes to identity, there has been no distinction, but when it comes to morality and being humane, there has been a significant difference.
WITH ALL THE LIVES THAT HAS BEEN LOST, KEEP IN MIND THAT THE LAW DO NOT SERVE JUSTICE. IT GOES ALONG WITH THE GAMES OF THE WICKED TO CLAIM VICTORY.
There has always been a misconception every time we seek justice. How long will it take you to finally say, ‘JUSTICE HAS BEEN SERVED’?
Of course, anyone could dare say, “Let’s have it justified under our country’s law.” This kind of perspective and system has long been tarnished. Is justice really served whenever we seek it or is everything plainly written on a paper?
Jessica Soho, also known as Maria Jessica Aspiras Soho, is a multi-awarded Filipina broadcast journalist who covered the Afghan conflict in 2002, almost risking her life when landmines near their location exploded.
IT IS NOT ABOUT ‘WHO?’… IT IS ABOUT ‘WHY?’
If the land we live in could only judge and choose who should and should not live under it based on morality, I guess the world would be empty.
The world has taken up too much greed, are we all worth living in the same boat? Maybe it’s about time to put holes within the boat to be able to distinguish how far we can go to survive. If we are not being punished because of our wicked aspirations, I don’t know what this is. If everyone could just be doing the right thing, we would never put the blame on ourselves nor to anyone because we know how to accept and repent. However, we suffer because we chose not to do the right thing which is why we deserve to suffer the consequences of our actions.
The war in Afghanistan is one way of saying that the world may end up as chaotic and as destructive. What do we do next?
It’s time to scare them off in silence.
