AN EXTRA DAY TO SLAY

/ 16 October 2020

Counting the days of the week to finally smell that long weekend everyone’s dreaming of seems different at times like this. A wild and crazy rhythm of the weekend, with its planned trips, parties, and many more. There is just simply too much fun to be had if it weren’t for this pandemic.

Now, it’s not as exciting or as relaxing before. Whatever problems you’re dealing with now, make sure to refuel, take it slow, and give your soul a chance to catch up with your body. Let go of your anxieties and worries so that you can be free. Use it to count your rainbows instead of your thunderstorms.

You cannot direct the wind, but you do have the power to adjust the sails on your boat. An extra day would be pointless if you spend 100% of yourself in vain. Do something that your future self will thank you for.

Take your life in your hands that will help you survive for the following weeks. Now is not the time to waste a penny for worthless cravings, engage with your family, and plan as one on how to keep healthy and vigilant.

You are privileged enough if you can still manage to eat three times a day and chill on your couch watching Netflix. Around you, a lot is dying for the survival of their family.

Be thankful for getting through this week. Every day is a gift. But some days are packaged better. Let us just hope and pray to have the vaccine to cure the world and its people. The simplest help you can give is to pray for everyone’s safety, so use this power to save a precious life.

Before the long weekend wither, make the best you can do. Find ways to slay every minute and every second to strengthen your family for the battle that has no certainty when it will end.
