UNVACCINATED TEACHERS CAN ATTEND F2F CLASSES
THE DEPARTMENT of Education in Central Visayas will allow unvaccinated teachers to attend face-to-face classes.
THE DEPARTMENT of Education in Central Visayas will allow unvaccinated teachers to attend face-to-face classes.
DepED-7 made the statement after Education Secretary and Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio said that no one will be discriminated against in schools.
“For now, VP, Secretary Sara emphasized that they still can, there’s no discrimination. So that’s why we will also implement that,” DepEd-7 Director Salustiano Jimenez said.
Students are not required to get vaccinated to be able to enroll in face-to-face sessions, but they were strongly advised to get inoculated against the virus.
The DepEd will work with the Department of Health to set up mobile vaccination clinics.
Earlier, DepEd spokesperson Michael Poa said that vaccination is voluntary and that there are no different rules for those who are vaccinated and those who are not.
“We have a non-discriminatory policy at the Department of Education, meaning for both teaching and non-teaching personnel as well as our learners themselves, we will not discriminate. Wala pong separate guidelines for those that are vaccinated and those that are unvaccinated. So voluntary pa rin po ang pananaw natin sa vaccination,” he said.
