ISANG guro ang nagtayo ng satellite library sa Batac City, Ilocos Norte para sa mga kapus-palad na estudyante.

Ayon kay Allan B. Garcia, Head Teacher III mula sa Batac National High School, ang ‘911 Library’ ay naglalayong makapagbigay ng accessible na mga materyal na pang-edukasyon sa mga mag-aaral.

Nagmula ito sa 911 Klasrum ng SDO, isang sistema na ginagamit para makapagbigay ng feedback, impormasyon, at iba pang kaugnay na paalala gamit ang Facebook Messenger.

“It is going back to the traditional yet reliable means of getting knowledge and supplementary information. A learner does not need to navigate around the bushes, between or on top of trees and roofs just to rummage a precious fiber of internet connection,” pahayag ni Garcia.

Pinuri naman ito ni Education Secretary Leonor Briones dahil malaking tulong ito sa mga estudyante sa mga liblib na lugar.

“Civilization can only move forward through innovation. We should start [teaching] innovation not at the university level, but the basic education level. The notion of innovation, the desire for knowledge, of creating something helpful out of what is going on around us, has to be inculcated to our learners,” sabi ni Briones.

Nagpasalamat din si Garcia sa mga stakeholder na sumuporta sa nasabing proyekto, kabilang ang city government ng Ilocos Norte, Magilas Distribution and Trading Corporation, Northwestern University, at Northern Christian College, na nagbigay ng P150,000 halaga ng matataas na kalidad na mga libro at mga sanggunian na materyales.

Nagbigay rin ang Divine Word College of Laoag ng P250,000 na halaga ng libro.
