TWO municipalities in Romblon province will soon have coconut processing plants thanks to the partnership between the Romblon State University and the Philippine Coconut Authority.

The Integrated Coconut Processing plants will be established in the municipalities of San Andres and San Agustin.

RSU said that the project dubbed “Convergence in Coconut Farming Communities Towards Sustainable Rural Enterprise Project (2020 Bayanihan)” will pave the way for research opportunities for the benefit of locals.

RSU received P34 million in funding for the project.

“Romblon State University is honored to be the way for the reality of the project,” RSU President Dr. Merian P. Catajay-Mani said.

“Sustainable development goals, accountability to every fund from the government where the community can benefit is significant for the success of this project,” she added.
