POLICE officers saved a teenager from drowning in Bangar, La Union.

Bangar Municipal Police Station personnel PSMS Marlon Panitan and Patrolman Jefferson Otanes rescued Andrei, a Grade 8 student, who was swept by strong waves in Paratong 3.

Andrei was later taken to the Regional Health Unit in Bangar for a medical check.

Philippine National Police chief Guillermo Eleazar commended the policemen for risking their lives to save the teenager.

“Kahit sariling buhay ay handang isakripisyo ng ating kapulisan para lamang mailigtas ang ating mga kababayan sa kapahamakan,” Eleazar said.
