SCHOOLS and villages in the municipality of Piddig in Ilocos Norte will soon have free internet connection.

Piddig Mayor Eddie Guillen bared plans to provide connectivity to all schools and villages.

A point-to-point internet connection is being installed in barangay halls and schools.

“Instead of giving P100 load allowance to our students weekly, why don’t we just install a dedicated internet line to benefit all our constituents?” Guillen said.

The project aims to help schools that have no internet access and residents who are interested in e-commerce.

The local government has secured around P16 million for the three-year project.
