SEVERAL campuses of the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology now have free wifi sites courtesy of the Department of Information and Communications Technology.

The WiFi sites were set up in the campuses in Gapan City, Sumacab, San Leonardo, Peñaranda, General Tinio, Atate, Talavera, San Isidro and Fort Magsaysay.

The DICT Luzon Cluster 2, with the support of the local government, activated the Free Wi-Fi sites to help students in their distance learning.

Under the DICT’s free wifi for all programs, public schools and state universities and colleges were given priority, as well as public hospitals, rural health units and Covid19 isolation facilities.

More than 4,000 WiFi spots had been installed nationwide. The department aims to set up 10,000 WiFi sites by the end of 2020 and 104,000 by 2023.
