NEGROS ORIENTAL SCHOOLS RECEIVE DONATED GADGETS AS PART OF ‘EDuAKSYON’ CAMPAIGN

OFFICIALS of the Department of Education central office will visit Last Mile Schools Nasuji Elementary School in Valencia, and Guihob Elementary School in La Libertad, Negros Oriental province to formally turn over donated gadgets and check their respective facilities.

“With support from our partners, we have sustained our efforts to provide assistance to our Last Mile Schools. Even in these difficult times, our Bayanihan spirit for our learners truly lives on,” Education Secretary Leonor Briones said.

Briones also noted the delivery of donated laptops and other learning gadgets will be conducted in other provinces, with priority to Last Mile Schools.

Undersecretary for Administration Alain Pascua and Undersecretary for Field Operations Atty. Revsee Escobedo will spearhead the week-long visit to Negros Oriental as part of the EduAKSYON campaign.

The two undersecretaries presided over the inauguration of West City Elementary School last Friday.

Meanwhile, schools in Sta. Catalina, Siaton, Amlan, San Jose, and Valencia already received the e-learning gadgets earlier from the DepEd CO team. Schools in La Libertad, Vallehermoso, and Guihulngan City will accept the gadgets on Sunday to augment learning continuity and help students adjust to blended learning.

Three clusters of teachers from the recipient schools will also engage in the EdukAksyon Tayo Training on Information Technology that started on March 18 end ends March 21 and conducted by the EdTech team from the Central Office.

School visits to the new Technical-Vocational High School and Division Office, Dumaguete City High School, and several schools in Valencia, Canlaon City, Bayawan City, Bais City, and Tanjay City are scheduled to oversee the implementation of the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan.

In addition, the DepEd Executive Committee members will hold a meeting with their field counterparts to check on the status of the schools and get their feedback on the department’s activities and projects.
