THE BANGSAMORO Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education has renewed the contract of 737 Islamic Studies and Arabic Language teachers in the province of Lanao and Marawi City.

The ministry said that the move “aims to lengthen the presence of religious educators and recognizes Islamic studies as a venue for balanced education among Bangsamoro learners.”

“Of the 737 ISAL teachers renewed, 336 were from Lanao Sur 1, 355 from Lanao Sur 2, and 46 from Marawi City,” MBHTE said.

“An orientation was held thereafter which talked about the content of their contract, the hiring of [the new] batch of ISAL teachers and the increase of their monthly salary from P12,000 to P16,200,” it added.

A simultaneous contract signing began on June 5, 2021.

The ministry said that it will also renew the contracts of ISAL teachers in the island divisions.
