AFTER renewing the contract of more than a thousand teachers, the Bangsamoro Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education said that it renewed the employment of 307 more Islamic Studies and Arabic Language instructors.

Of this number, 119 were from Basilan, 76 from Sulu, 63 from Tawi-Tawi, and 49 from Lamitan.

The ministry said that the extension is part of its Renewal of Contract of Service and Orientation through its Directorate-General for Madaris Education.

It added that the contract of 1,510 ISAL teachers have been renewed so far in nine school divisions in the Bangsamoro Administrative Region in Muslim Mindanao.

The salary of those whose contracts were renewed was increased from P12,000 to P16,200.

The signing of contract started on June 5, 2021.
