ILOCOS SCHOOL ROLLS OUT MOBILE LIBRARY
A SCHOOL in Vintar town in Ilocos Norte rolled out its mobile library program that provides free use of distance learning tools and books to students.
The Florentino Camaquin Integrated School’s “Library Van Caravan Project” visits needy students who have difficulties learning from home because they lack gadgets or have no access to the internet.
The reading project, first introduced in May 2021, aims to bridge the gap between in-person and the modular or online learning of students.
“This project will be visiting four barangays during Tuesday and Thursday with our language teachers in English and Filipino, to help enhance our learners’ reading and comprehension skills,” FCIS principal Arnel Sabuco Jr. said.
The library van offers a wide range of reading materials for students of all ages, as well as free printing and internet access to learners.
It also comes equipped with three workstations that parents and students can enjoy — a Reading Station, a Watching Station, and IT Station.
