ILOCOS NORTE SCHOOLS TO GET INTERNET TOWERS
SEVERAL schools in Ilocos Norte will soon have their own internet towers to improve connectivity for distance learning.
Towers will be installed in schools in the towns of Pinili, Paoay, Currimao and Badoc of the second district to boost their internet connection.
Badio Elementary School principal Aileen Rambaud of Pinili town said they are thankful for the installation.
“For now, we are dependent on our data connection but we are currently working on putting up our own internet provider to provide free internet access to our learners and the community,” Rambaud said.
The internet signal coming from Badio Elementary School tower can reach up to 1.5 kilometers. The other schools are finishing the construction of their own towers.
Ilocos Norte second district Representative Angelo Marcos Barba donated materials for the installation of the community hotspots. Other school supplies such as copier machines, A4 hard copy bond papers and heavy-duty staple wires were also turned over to the Schools Division of Ilocos Norte for the production of distance learning modules.
