HEIs IN REGION 12 FULLY ADJUST TO FLEXIBLE LEARNING — CHED
COLLEGES and universities in Region 12 made significant investments in technology to fully adjust to flexible learning, the Commission on Higher Education said.
CHED Region 12 Director Nelia Alibin said that the higher education institutions in the province have accepted that the in-classroom classes may not resume in the near future.
“The schools have already made significant investments in various technologies, personnel training and retrofitting of facilities. Both our schools and students have now adjusted well with flexible learning compared to last year,” Albin said.
She said flexible learning could become the primary learning mode in the region even when the situation normalizes later on.
She added that CHED authorized HEIs to decide on the applicable learning systems with most choosing the online and blended modes.
CHED chief Prospero de Vera III earlier said that flexible learning would be the new normal for tertiary students.
De Vera explained that flexible learning does not necessarily require internet connectivity because it involves a combination of digital and non-digital technology.
